HISTORY OF THE ROSE
THE GOLDEN AGE
The 2nd arch of the fresco in tribute to the 19th century rose growers illustrates the second half of the 19th century: the golden age of roses in Lyon.

Rose growers get worldwide fame thanks to the creation of new varieties (reblooming hybrids and tea hybrids). Several dynasties of rose growers have their origin at this period.
